How KorTek 917 Works

KorTek 917 uses lithium densifier technology to react with cementitious ingredients within the substrate. Once the reaction occurs, the treated surface becomes denser, harder, and more abrasion resistant.

Unlike a traditional film-forming sealer, KorTek 917 becomes an integral part of the surface. It does not create an impermeable coating, so the concrete remains breathable while gaining improved protection against wear, dusting, moisture, and surface deterioration.

Normally, one coat is sufficient. If a second pass is desired, apply it while the substrate is still wet. Avoid overlapping wet material onto dry, previously treated areas, as this may cause water spotting.

  • The surface may be damp before application, but there must be no standing water or puddles.
  • Protect glass, metal, aluminum, plastic, and vegetation from overspray.
  • Rinse any overspray immediately with water before it dries.
  • Always apply a test patch before full application.
  • Under certain conditions, a white precipitate may appear as the lithium solution dries.
  • If white spotting occurs, it can usually be removed with water and a stiff broom.
  • Surface may be slippery when wet or contaminated, so keep treated areas clean and dry.

Warranty coverage is limited to the original purchaser and is non-transferable. Claims must be submitted with photographic evidence of each install stage and full batch documentation. Dymond reserves the right to determine whether the cause of failure falls within warranty scope.

Can This Be Installed Over My Existing Floor?

Yes, in many cases, but the floor underneath has to be clean, solid, and mechanically prepared. The coating can only bond as well as the surface it is applied to.

Every floor is different. When coating over anything other than properly prepared concrete, we strongly recommend applying a small test area first.
