High-Build Epoxy for Kennels & Catteries
Dymond BondMaxx 127 is a 93% solids, high-build epoxy engineered to penetrate, strengthen, and protect concrete floors in demanding animal care environments such as kennels, catteries, and veterinary facilities. Designed for maximum adhesion and long-term durability, it forms a dense, glossy film that resists chemicals, abrasion, impacts, moisture, and constant cleaning cycles.
This two-component epoxy bonds directly to properly prepared concrete and masonry and is ideal for creating a uniform, structural foundation for epoxy, urethane, and polyaspartic flooring systems used in pet housing facilities. Its high-build design helps fill micro-pitting, smooth uneven slab profiles, and deliver a durable, sanitary base layer that supports easy cleaning and long service life.
Key Benefits
- 93% solids formulation for a thick, durable film build
- Self-priming epoxy that bonds directly to concrete
- High-strength adhesion minimizes peeling or delamination

Coverage & Film Build Options
BondMaxx 127 is designed for 6–12 mil film builds. Use the ranges below to select the appropriate thickness based on durability, cleanability, and leveling requirements:
| Film Build | Description | Coverage per Gallon |
|---|---|---|
| 6 mil | Minimum build | ~267 sq ft |
| 8 mil | Standard value build | ~200 sq ft |
| 10 mil | High-build application | ~160 sq ft |
| 12 mil | Heavy-duty animal care use | ~133 sq ft |
Coverage ranges reflect real-world application over properly prepared concrete. Substrate porosity, surface profile (CSP rating), and application technique may affect total yield.

Instructions
1) Product Storage: Store material at normal room temperature before use. Continuous storage should be between 60°F and 90°F. Low temperatures or large temperature fluctuations may cause crystallization.
2) Surface Preparation: The preferred surface preparation is fine brush blasting (shot blasting) to remove laitance and open the concrete. Remove all dirt, oils, contaminants, and loose material. Verify the slab is dry by taping down a 4' x 4' plastic sheet for 24 hours. If no moisture appears beneath, the floor is ready for coating.
3) Product Mixing: Mix ratio is 12 lbs Part A to 3.85 lbs Part B (standard colors). Kits are pre-measured and should be mixed in full. Mix thoroughly using slow-speed equipment until uniform and streak-free. Transfer to a second “transfer pail” and mix again. Apply immediately after mixing. Improper mixing may result in coating failure.
4) Priming: BondMaxx 127 functions as a high-solids primer suitable for most substrates. Extremely porous concrete may benefit from a lower-solids primer to reduce air release or outgassing.
5) Product Application: Apply using brush, roller, or serrated squeegee followed by back-rolling. Maintain recommended temperature and humidity during application and cure. Use an air-release roller if necessary before tack-off. Thicker builds improve self-leveling and surface uniformity.
6) Recoat or Topcoating: A topcoat is optional but recommended for animal care environments. Ensure the coating has tacked off before recoating. Check for epoxy blush and remove with detergent if present. Compatible topcoats include epoxies, urethanes, polyaspartics, and additional coats of this product.
7) Cleanup: Clean tools and spills using xylol.
8) Floor Cleaning: Some cleaners may affect color or gloss. Always test cleaning agents in a small area before full use.
9) Restrictions: Restrict the floor to light traffic and avoid harsh chemicals until fully cured. Keep the surface dry during the full cure cycle. As with all coatings, floors may become slippery when wet or contaminated—maintain proper housekeeping and drying procedures.
The Strength of Diamond. The Confidence of a Lifetime.
Dymond Coatings are engineered with the same qualities as their namesake — tough, long-lasting, and built to bond for life. That’s why we back every eligible Dymond kit with our Lifetime Promise: if your floor fails due to a verified product defect, we’ll replace the material or issue a credit toward your next job. This warranty applies to complete Dymond systems (primer, base coat, and topcoat) when installed on indoor concrete surfaces and applied according to Dymond’s preparation and application guidelines. Covered issues include delamination caused by faulty resin blends, curing failure due to batch defects, and contamination introduced during manufacturing or packaging. To qualify, the product must be within shelf life, used under proper storage conditions, and installed using only Dymond components.
This warranty does not extend to issues arising from improper surface preparation, substrate contamination, excessive moisture vapor, impact or abuse, substrate movement, or UV discoloration of white/light epoxies. Installations over wood, tile, or outdoor surfaces are excluded unless specifically approved. Cosmetic issues such as texture variation, microbubbling, or minor tint shift are not covered. Warranty coverage is limited to the original purchaser and is non-transferable. Claims must be submitted with photographic evidence of each install stage and full batch documentation. Dymond reserves the right to determine whether the cause of failure falls within warranty scope.
This Promise applies to most DIY and light commercial indoor projects. Larger commercial and industrial installations may be eligible for custom coverage — contact us for terms.
